Pictures

Well, the last six days have just been heaven. I can't describe how wonderful it is to have little Cohen here. Cody and I have had such strong feelings like we have been reunited with him, rather than just meeting him. We were so ready for him to join our family . Before Cohen came,I couldn't imagine loving a child as much as I love Ava, but it happens :) Cohen is such a sweet little baby - mellow and happy so far. We are so extremely blessed and can't thank our Heavanly Father enough for the precious little spirits he has sent to our home.
Here are some pictures of our new little guy...
First family photo :)

Ava loves her new brother!
She was so excited for him to get here, and she loves to hold him and give him binkies.

Doesn't he have the cutest little face???
First car ride
He is such a handsom little newborn!

Look how tiny he is in his crib! I forgot how small babies start out.

Baby's Room

So, no baby yet... but at least I finally finished his room today! I ordered some vinyl wall decals off of Etsy,
and I think they turned out really fun.
My sister, Tawny, painted the picture that I hung above the crib as a gift for Cody for Christmas - the face in the picture is of Cody. I thought it would be neat to have it in our son's room, and the colors match great too. Here are some shots of the decals I have around the room.
I think they'll be fun for our little boy as he gets older.

Am I weird for loving those monsters above his closet??
I think they are funny.

I am almost done with Ava's new bedroom also. There are just a few details to finish off, then I'll post some pics of her room too.
Here's pin boards I made for her room though. I hot-glued some cork to canvass, then wrapped them in this super cute fabric. It was really simple, but fun to do.

Anniversary

Today is our 5 year wedding anniversary!!
Holy cow, have we really been married that long already?? ;)
When we were first married we used to ask each other,
"Where do we hope to be in 5 years?"
Here are some of those hopes:
Finish college
Have 1 or 2 kids
Have Cody started in his career
Buy our own house
Tavel
Still be just as happy and more in love than when we were first married
And now here we are... Accomplished our whole list,
and really have everything we could care for right now.
It was fun tonight on our anniversary date to reflect on where we've been and where we are now. It's been quite the journey... We got married pretty fast -I was only 19 almost 20-, we were totally poorness, barely even into college, we really didn't really have a clue, and we had Ava a few years later while both of us were still in school... Probably haven't taken the easiest road on everything, but we have had such a great and fulfilling adventure so far, and truly wouldn't change a thing.
Life is wonderful because we are together. We are so happy, and have grown to love each other more and more since our first day as husband and wife, which is more important than anything else we could hope for.
We are excited to see what the next 5 years have in store.
Cody gave me a card today, and in it he wrote:
"I wouldn't have known life if I wouldn't have known you."

The Fourth

We had a way fun Fourth of July this year! I would have say we had a pretty "cultural" day. After going to a neighborhood breakfast with my family, we headed up to Park City. First, we went to a park where it was advertised that there would be music and activities. It was interesting. Somehow we ended up in total treehuggerville! But we made the most of it!

While the rest of the fam watched a rugby game (which Cody LOVED),

my mom and I played at the park with Ava (which she LOVED).

Then we went out to dinner... I can't remember the name of the restraunt, but it was way yummy :) Next we went to Cold Stone! Mmmmm
Here is a typical picture of my brother... And then my mom actually we got one of him smiling! He's so cute.

After dinner we went and fed the ducks before going up to the Deer Valley ampatheater to listen to the Utah Symphony patriotic concert.

Ava has the best Aunts!

Here is a wonderful shot of my dear husband at the Symphony...

So we went from hanging' with the treehuggin', beer drinkin', rockin' bluegrass crowd at the park, to chillin' with the upperclass wine and cheese eating crowd at the symphony. No exaggeration, everyone there had their picknick baskets allpacked with their wine and fancy assortments of cheese, crackers, and breads. We didn't quite fit in. So if you ever attend the a Utah Symphony concert at the Deer Valley ampatheater make sure to take a picknick basket with some grape juiced (or wine :) and cheese and crackers. Then you will fit right in...

The concert actually turned out to be very enjoyable. They played some great patriotic songs and we were all waving flags around at the end! Even Ava really enjoyed the music.

And of course, we ended the adventurous day with fireworks. I love fireworks. Ava totally enjoyed them too - even though she kept calling them "fire trucks."
